What is tungsten carbide rod?

Tungsten carbide rod is a cemented carbide material made of tungsten (W) and carbon (C) through a high-temperature sintering process. It has extremely high hardness (up to HRA 90 or above), wear resistance and impact resistance.

People widely use it in cutting tools, drilling equipment, mold manufacturing and wear-resistant parts, especially in high temperature, high pressure or high wear environment.

As a powerful factory, the tungsten steel round rod produced by Puwei has further improved the wear resistance and impact resistance of the product

optimizing the composition ratio and advanced technology, which can meet the stringent requirements of the industrial field for high-performance materials.

Where to buy carbide rods?

You can purchase carbide rods from professional carbide manufacturers, industrial material suppliers or online B2B platforms (such as Alibaba and Made-in-China.com).

For users who value quality and stability, we recommend Puwei.

As a full-process production enterprise with its own factory, Puwei strictly implements ISO standards from raw material control to finished product testing to ensure that the density,

hardness and bending strength of each batch of tungsten carbide rods reach the industry-leading level.

We support customized services (such as size, coating, etc.), and provide technical consultation and after-sales guarantee, which is a cost-effective choice for industrial customers.

How are cemented carbide rods made?

The manufacture of cemented carbide rods mainly adopts powder metallurgy process:

1. Mix the high-purity tungsten powder and carbon powder in proportion during the raw material mixing process, and add metal binders such as cobalt (Co).

2. During pressing and molding, press the mixed powder into a rod-shaped embryo through a mold.

3. High-temperature sintering: sintering in a vacuum or hydrogen environment at 1400°C-1600°C to densify the material;

4. Post-processing: grinding, polishing, coating and other processes to improve surface accuracy and performance.

Puwei relies on its self-developed sintering technology and fully automatic production line to ensure that the internal structure of tungsten carbide rods is uniform, the porosity is low, and it has both high hardness and toughness.
